Analog and Digital Color 11/15
Research on the Text/Presentation:
- What are pixels?
Pixels are the individual building blocks of most other digital images used on monitors.
- How is color viewed in computer monitors?
Color is viewed by RGB pixels, red, green, and blue, in which are mixed and is perceived as white light.
- What is the additive color space?
Additive color space is the mixing of different levels of red, green and blue colors in order to
create new colors, basically related to RBG.
- Describe which additive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black.
I would use the Color Sliders in InDesign, then I would slide the values all the way to the right or max out values for white and all the way to the left or change the values to Zero for black.
- What is the subtractive color space?
Subtractive Color Mixing , cyan/magenta/yellow/black, is the mixing of pigments on substrate which is the paper or material. This substrate reflects RGB light.
- Describe which subtractive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black.
I would change the options to CMYK values and then do the same which is sliding all sliders to the right for white and to the left for black.
- What is color calibration?
Color calibration is to check, adjust, or determine by comparison with a standard such as the Pantone colors.
- How does the PMS (Pantone Matching System) color system ensure color fidelity?
The Pantone Matching System standardizes colors and assigns each color a number and name and the printer uses the highest quality to ensure the color fidelity .
- What is analog color?
Analog colors are similar and related and therefore the colors are right next to each other on the color wheel. These colors use
